1    WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer every time you visit a website.
This allows our website to remember your actions and preferences (such as language, font, display options, etc.) for a given period of time. The advantage of this is that when you revisit the website or navigate between different web pages, your preferences do not have to be reconfigured each time.
Cookies are used to facilitate and improve the browsing experience. Whenever you visit the website, cookies ensure that your personal settings can be recalled. In addition, data are collected on how the website was consulted, which allows us to improve the overall performance of the website in terms of its speed and operation.
Cookies never function independently and are always linked to a website. Cookies do not provide access to data on your computer or phone in any way.
If you do not want a website to be able to place cookies on your computer, you can change your browser settings.

2    MANAGING COOKIES
Most browsers automatically accept cookies. You can set up your browser to warn you before a cookie is placed or to refuse cookies. Below are some links with more explanations on how to configure cookies in the most popular web browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Internet Explorer
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari

We have no control over the content of the above links. These links may be changed by those responsible for the respective browsers.
More information on managing cookies can be found at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/. In addition, the following sites allow you to decide which companies you no longer wish to receive cookies from: https://youradchoices.com/pmc and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/.
Please note that changing these settings may cause a website to no longer work as expected.
If you use different devices to visit a website, make sure your cookie preferences are set on each device's browser.

3    TYPES OF COOKIES

  • Strictly necessary cookies are required to enable browsing and related functions. These cookies do not identify you as an individual. If you reject these cookies, various functions within the website will be partially or fully disrupted.
  • Functional cookies increase the user-friendliness of the website by remembering your choices (e.g., language preference). They ensure that certain settings are personalised at your request. If you do not accept these cookies, it may affect the performance and functionality of the website and limit access to content on the website.
  • Performance/Analytic cookies collect data on the use of a website such as the number of visitors, the time visitors spend on a webpage and any error messages. They help ITZU improve website performance. These cookies do not identify you as an individual.
  • Advertising Cookies are used to deliver content that is more relevant to you. They can be used to deliver targeted ads or limit the number of times you see an ad. They also help us measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on the ITZU website. We may use these cookies to remember websites you have visited, and we may share this information with other parties, including advertisers.
  • Third party cookies are cookies sent to your browser from a server or domain that is not managed by ITZU, but by a collaborating organisation. Only these third parties have access to those cookies and the information collected by the cookie.

5    LEGAL BASIS

  • Legitimate interest
ITZU bases the setting of strictly necessary and functional cookies on its legitimate interest. After all, these cookies are necessary for the website to function properly or to improve your user experience. These cookies are set automatically when you visit the website.
  • Consent
We will always ask your explicit permission before placing any cookies that are not strictly necessary or non-functional. This permission is granted by agreeing to the different types of cookies in the cookie banner.

6    WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS AND HOW CAN YOU EXERCISE THEM?
6.1    What are your rights?

  • Right of access: You can ask us what personal data of yours we process, what we process it for, which categories of personal data we process, with which categories of third parties we share your personal data, the origin of the data processed and - when applicable - the logic we use when automatically processing personal data.
  • Right to rectification: If any of your information is incorrect, you can ask us to correct it.
  • Right to erase your data: If data is not processed lawfully or if your data is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected, you can ask us to delete your data.
  • Right to restrict processing: By restricting the processing of your personal data, your personal data can still be stored but its use will be limited. Once you have requested a processing restriction, we will only be allowed to store your data. This means that no other operations can take place with your data.
  • Right to object: You have the right to object to your data being processed if such processing is based on a public interest or a legitimate interest of the person processing your data. Moreover, you can also assert this right to object if your personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes. This right to object also applies to profiling that forms the basis of processing for direct marketing purposes.
  • Right to withdraw consent: If the processing of your personal data is based on the basis of consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time.
  • Right to data portability: You have the right to obtain the personal data you provided in a common, structured and machine-readable form and you have the right to transfer this personal data to another controller if the processing is based on the legal grounds of consent or contractual relationship.
The above rights are only a summary and remain subject to the limitations of applicable data protection laws at all times.

6.2    How can you exercise your rights?
You can exercise your rights by sending an email to privacy@itzu.eu. To prevent any unauthorised disclosure of your personal data, ITZU may request further information to verify your identity.
ITZU has one month to respond to your request. This period starts when ITZU has received your application and has all the required information to comply with your request. The one-month period may be extended upon notice and explanation from ITZU.
ITZU will provide the requested information free of charge. Where requests are unfounded or excessive, in particular due to their repetitive nature, ITZU may charge a reasonable fee or may refuse the request.
If for some reason you believe that ITZU has not handled your request correctly, you may contact ITZU again. We will then work with you to find a solution.
For the sake of completeness, we inform you that if ITZU does not respond to your request, refuses it or if our response does not meet your expectations, you always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium, Tel +32 (0)2 274 48 00, or via the e-mail address contact@apd-gba.be.
